NOTE: To install the the operating system, the following equipment is needed:
- AC adapter with power cord
- USB flash drive (note: using a USB 3.1 flash drive will speed up the update process)
CAUTION – Reinstalling the operating system will erase all software installed on the device, and
all data stored on the internal storage on the device. Back up all necessary data before starting
this process.
1. Prepare the Flash Drive
- Connect a USB flash drive (min of 16GB) to a Windows 10 computer. A USB C flash
drive is recommended. Alternatively a USB C to A cable could be used with a USB A
flash drive. All data on the flash drive will be lost. - In Windows File Explorer, right click on the flash drive and select ‘Format’.
- Select Quick Format and Fat32 file system.
- Select and format the flash drive.
- Enter an appropriate volume label.
- Click Start to format the USB flash drive.
2. Copy The OS Image and Files
- Download the latest released OS image here.
- Unzip the .zip file.
- Select all of the folders and files and copy them to the root directory of the newly
formatted flash drive. - The directory structure should look like this:
3. Boot The Tablet And Install The Operating System
- Shutdown the T100 tablet.
- Connect the USB flash drive containing the OS to the T100 tablet (using a USBC to A
cable if necessary) - Power on the T100 tablet.
- When the Trimble logo appears, press and release F4 key on T100 tablet repeatedly
until a small arrow appears on the screen - Release the F4 key
- If the tablet boots normally to Windows 10, shutdown and repeat
- Using the directional pad select your USB flash drive from the boot options (which will
something similar to UEFI: Your device name, partition x) - Press the OK key on the T100 tablet and the OS will be installed. It takes about 10
minutes and all data on the T100 tablet will be erased.
4. Boot The Tablet
- Remove the flash drive and boot the T100 tablet.
- After booting up the T100 will launch the installed OS. The T100 tablet will be in the Factory default state, and you are able to configure language settings and all other settings as needed. Once the Windows desktop is shown, the tablet is ready for use. Please note that you will need to reinstall any previously installed software.
5. Audio Drivers
Occasionally after installing the OS the audio drivers fail to install. To identify if this occurred in the bottom right of the taskbar the audio icon will have a red x attached to it.
- Copy the T100 Audio Folder onto the USB used to install the OS.
- Unzip the .zip file.
- Search Device Manager in the search bar on the bottom left of the taskbar.
- Open Device Manager.
- Click Audio Inputs and Outputs.
- Click Speakers.
- Click Driver.
- Click Update Driver and Browse my computer for drivers.
- Click Browse.
- Find the T100 Audio Drivers file in the USB or location you have it downloaded.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
